Community drop-in session, February 10th 2026

We invite the local community to an information session to learn about the new state approvals process and hear more about the proposed Mount Hopeful Battery project.

Recent changes to the assessment of grid-scale battery storage systems require that the proposed Neoen Mount Hopeful Battery project be assessed by the State government. Rockhampton Regional Council will no longer assess and decide the development application. Although the way the Project will be assessed has changed, it remains impact assessable, which means the community can still have their say through a formal submission process.

In light of these changes, Neoen will be holding a community information session to answer questions about the new assessment pathway and revised project timeline.
