The following notice is published pursuant to section 95B of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act)

Neoen Australia Pty Ltd. is proposing to construct, operate and decommission a windfarm of up
to 63 turbines, 45km south of Rockhampton.

From 20 September until 17 October 2023, Draft Preliminary Documentation, as relevant to the Mount Hopeful Wind Farm, was made available for public comment by Neoen. Pursuant to Section 95B(2) of the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999 (EBPC Act), the Final Preliminary Documentation (the report) is being published for public notification, and is now available to view by visiting Documents.

The proposed action has been referred under the EPBC Act and has been determined to be a ‘controlled action’ with the following controlling provisions: listed threatened species and communities (section 18 & section 18A) and listed migratory species (section 20 & section 20A).

The final report will be made available until 16 January 2024. It includes a summary of how comments made in submissions have been addressed and provides a supplementary assessment of noise impacts for Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) and wildlife more generally in Section 8.2.5 of Attachment B4 and supplementary discussions around new sightings of Koala and Samadera Bidwillii in Sections 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 of the Preliminary Documentation.
