Introduction to Mount Hopeful Battery
The Mount Hopeful battery is a grid-scale proposed battery with a capacity of up to 600MW with up to 4 hours of power in reserve. It will be located on the eastern side of the wind farm, along South Ulam Road.

The Mount Hopeful Battery was initially proposed to be delivered jointly with our Mount Hopeful Wind Farm project, currently in development. The project received development approvals from the Queensland Government in 2022 and the Commonwealth in 2024.
Neoen has identified an opportunity to deploy the battery as a standalone asset to provide services to the national electricity market. A new development permit application would be required and we are aiming to submit this to Council in September 2025. The battery is likely to be delivered across two stages.
